Have you been looking to be creative? You loved to make when you were little, but you just got busy with other things! You miss it desperately though and long to create? Well this course is perfect for you! You will create a gorgeous mosaic house number that you can be really proud of. They make the house look lifted and joyful and of course individual. My ethos is to be both creative and green, so most of my materials will be from charity shops or second hand, so we can upcycle and re-use. If you have any items that you want to use mirrors, plates, shells etc please bring them with you. Its so lovely to use an item personal to you.
Soon you will be sticking glass, tiles and semi precious stones to your house number. Your skills wont be limited to this this one project - the skills are transferrable to mosaic making in general, a lifetime of creating beautiful things for your house or garden.
To finish there is a demonstration of grouting. All in all, it's easily achievable for anyone!
Sandgate, Folkestone, Kent. A stones throw from the beach. You can expect fun, chats and learning how to make mosaics! We will drink tea and eat cake (bring lunch). The fabulous end result will be a house number for you or a family member.
The skills you will learn are
- Where to search for exquisite glass and ceramic mosaic materials
- How to cut glass and cermaics for mosaicing
- What materials to use and where to buy/ find them
- How to mosaic and ensure that pieces fit!
- How to grout a finished piece
I will provide mosaic nippers to borrow. Select from a huge choice of materials (glass, porcelain, pebbles, vintage china and shells.
Join together in creating a wonderful original piece created by wonderful you! Its a space to create and be child like again. Great vibes created together by being creative in the community with a like minded group. Its a great thing to bring out the joy through creativity and the healing that brings in 2021. Your workshop facilitator is Vanessa aka Stickyness creativity vibes through every cell in her body!

They sparkle in the rain and glint in sunshine and provide colour all year around. These mosaic balls look fabulous mounted alongside blooms or create intrigue peeping out from the undergrowth. Upcyling a lampshade with Stickyness
£45
This half a day workshop includes learning the skills to make a lampshade from scratch using paper. You will be shown step by step how to make a lampshade for you home or to give as a present to others. You will of course be able to ask questions along the way and will leave the workshop with a lampshade in progress or fully made. You will be sent an email upon booking with a list of items needed for this workshop, the purpose of this workshop is to create a lampshade that is re-purposed from one in your house or to buy in a charity shop or facebook market place.
